The extension of the cohabitation agreement to the same sex couples in Greece is one of the most important changes that the Ministry of Justice is going to impose οn Family Law.

The Ministry is willing to transform radically after 31 years the relevant provisions and it is also willing to found a Family Law Court in every district of the country. Its goal is to found a Counselling Office concerning marriage issues and to establish shared custody even after divorce or separation.

However The Ministry is not willing to establish thw marriage of the same sex couples.

The extension of the Cohabitation Agreement to the same sex couples is one of the reason that our country has been convicted by the ECHR.
